Your game, your device
Privacy policy.
Your words and match history stay on your iPhone. We use analytics to understand play and balance our word catalog.
Last updated: October 4, 2026
DuoSwitch does not upload word text. Analytics includes usage information, pseudonymous identifiers, and IDs from our published word catalog to measure difficulty.
Who operates DuoSwitch
DuoSwitch and this website are operated by the developer shown as the seller on the DuoSwitch App Store page. For privacy questions or requests, email support@duoswitch.com.
This policy covers the DuoSwitch iPhone app, this website and messages you send to us for support.
What stays on your device
The app includes an offline word bank and downloads public catalog updates from Google Cloud Firestore. Word text is not included in our analytics events.
You do not need to create an account. DuoSwitch has no ads. Describe is free, and a one-time in-app purchase unlocks unlimited play in Act It Out and Mixed. Your completed free matches and purchase access are tracked on your device.
Completed match results, including the date, game, scores and any custom team names, are saved on your device. Open Previous matches and choose Clear history to delete these results. Clearing match history does not reset free-match trials or purchase access. Custom team names are not included in analytics.
App analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase (GA4) to understand feature use and improve the game. The app sends information such as:
| Information | Examples and purpose |
|---|---|
| Game activity | Game selections, screens, round and match starts and results, scores, passes, pauses and unfinished matches explicitly ended in the app. This helps us see which flows work and where play stops. |
| Catalog difficulty | Our published word ID, content language and revision, selected difficulty, result and active response time. Aggregate success rates help classify words as easy, normal or hard. A random per-attempt ID prevents duplicate counting; it is not a person’s identifier. |
| Purchase activity | Purchase-screen views, product selection, product ID, listed price and currency, and purchase or restore outcomes help us understand the unlock flow. We do not receive payment-card details. |
| Device and app context | Device type, operating system, app version and language. This helps us understand compatibility and usage. |
| Approximate location | Analytics may derive a country or region from an IP address. DuoSwitch does not request your precise location. |
| Pseudonymous identifiers | A Firebase app-instance identifier and a randomly generated identifier stored in the device Keychain help measure returning use. These are not your name or email address. |
| Service diagnostics | Limited technical metadata used by the Firebase SDK to deliver its services. |
Our events do not include word text, private custom-content identifiers or raw error messages. Public catalog IDs can be matched to the words we publish. We disable advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization, IDFV collection and on-device advertising conversion measurement. Automatic Firebase Crashlytics collection is also disabled.
Pseudonymous data is not the same as anonymous data: the identifiers allow activity from the same installation to be associated over time. The Keychain identifier may remain after you uninstall the app and may be reused if you reinstall it.
For Google's collection details, see Google Analytics data collection and Firebase privacy and security.
Purchases
Apple processes in-app payments and manages purchase history through your Apple Account. DuoSwitch checks purchase entitlements with StoreKit and can restore the full-game unlock on a compatible device using the same Apple Account. We do not operate a payment server or receive your Apple Account credentials or payment-card details. See Apple’s privacy policy.
This website and support email
This website does not load Google Analytics, advertising scripts or tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served with the page. Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process request information such as IP addresses, requested URLs and browser information to deliver and secure the website. See Vercel’s privacy notice.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to answer your request and follow up on the issue. Please do not send passwords or other sensitive information.
Service providers and retention
Google processes app analytics and serves public word catalogs through Firestore. Analytics exports to BigQuery support aggregate difficulty calculations. Catalog requests send the requested game and language; Google may process network metadata to deliver and secure them. Vercel provides website hosting. These providers may process information in countries other than your own, as described in their privacy documentation. We do not sell your personal information or use app activity for targeted advertising.
Analytics records follow the retention settings and deletion controls of our Google Analytics property; aggregated reports may be retained separately. Support correspondence is kept while needed to handle your request and related follow-up. Provider security and operational records follow the provider’s applicable retention practices.
Your choices and requests
You can stop future app analytics collection by uninstalling DuoSwitch. Uninstalling does not itself delete information already received by our service providers or guarantee removal of a Keychain identifier.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict its use. Contact support@duoswitch.com to make a request. Because the app has no account and uses pseudonymous identifiers, we may need additional information to locate records and confirm that they relate to you. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
Children
DuoSwitch is a general-audience party game. It is not directed specifically at children under 13, and we do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has sent us personal information so we can review it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our data practices change. The date above identifies the current version.
